Access Bank Gambia Limited appoints Papa Yusupha Njie as Chairman, Board of Directors

Access Bank Gambia Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Papa Yusupha Njie as its (Chairman, Board of Directors), with effect from March 23, 2017. He joined the Board of the Bank in September, 2014, as a Non-Executive Director and has contributed to the successful turnaround of the Bank.
 
He is the Founder and CEO of UNIQUE SOLUTIONS, a 41 year-old, Electronic Engineering and Management graduate of Middlesex University, UK. He is a trained electronic and computer engineer. He has passionately driven the strategic agenda of Unique Solutions over the past 17 years, together with his dedicated management, young and dynamic staff taking Unique Solutions from humble beginnings to its status as one of the leading ICT service and solutions providers in the Gambia and the sub region.
 
He is the Director of the Gambia Submarine Cable Company Ltd, RLG Communications Co. Ltd and GAMSWITCH. He is the former Chairman, Board of Directors of the National Training Authority of the Gambia. He is the former 1st Vice President of the Gambia, Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He was a former Board Member of the American Chamber of Commerce, Gambia Chapter.
 
Mr. Njie was awarded the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Young Entrepreneur of the year award in 2006 and nominated for the same award in 2008 and nominated for the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Business Man of the year 2008. Unique Solutions was awarded the GCCI SME of the Year, 2009.
 
Mr. Njie returned from Washington DC in May, 2010 on the invitation of President Obama where he attended the Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship, meeting President Obama in person and many other world leaders. His entrepreneurial spirit was acknowledged by the US Secretary of State, Hilary Rodham Clinton in her speech at the summit. He also attended the First ever US-AFRICA business summit in August, 2014 invited by President Obama once again.
 
Unique Solutions was named one of the winners at the Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship in 2011, out of 3300 companies and 48 countries winning a prize of $50,000.00.
